Foil Academy

I purchased the Singshot wind foil even before the course was posted on the site. I started the first day behind a boat with the 24 inch mast to get the sense of it. https://vimeo.com/218466478 Then I watched the course and this is my 4th day out on the wind foil with a sail: https://vimeo.com/224015714 I expect to be on the full sized mast on my 6th or 7th day. Gybing, well that will be a while.

Good work Tony and the Slingshot team. Great with the video clips and tips how to progress. Really helpful. Product is excellent. Actually dropped my new foil in the river in Perth after only a few minutes. Totally my own mistake that I didn't do the bolts up proberly (or got the right size). Anyway it was gone for 3 months until the water cleared up a bit and a friend found it :). After a bit of cleaning it was good to go again and I'm now hooked to the new sensation of flying. Looking closer at other products the Slingshot it really well made. So far I have no problem using it in a older slalom board 75cm wide. I also like that you can tune a bit with the switch fuselage and can upgrade the front foils easy if you want. Cheers Jesper Orth AUS 10

I'm a long-time windsurfer who is thinking of giving foiling a try, but didn't want to buy a bunch of expensive equipment without learning a bit more about the "learning curve" first. Foil Academy is a great format and gave me a good feel for the difference between foiling windsurfing and standard windsurfing, a good idea for the additional skill sets needed to foil successfully, and a detailed overview of the equipment needed. I especially appreciated the tutorial videos about the step-by-step instruction from foil windsurfing beginners to the more advanced lessons on set-up and jibing. Thanks so much for the course . . . . I really appreciate the efforts to share your experience with "newbies" and the "free tutorial" format. Cheers and happy foiling!

Thanks for the great free tutorial. The learning curve is steep with the graduated mast system. It was 10 years since I had last windsurfed. I am windsurfing again for the very first time!

Tony is a great instructor. Suggestion, Need more specifics on tuning (foot straps vs. mast track, ect.). 25 yrs of windsurfing...always great to learn new stuff

Trying to decide on the investment ... poor land locked lake sailor. HUGE investment but I love the potential... interesting the bit on puff hunting. Since our season is Oct-early May, looking for a way to extend the season in our puffy (or non existent) summer winds and this seems to be a good fit. Older, more efficient (I usually sail about a meter smaller than my mates) ... like the idea of bring the younger into the fold ... not so crazy about the bleeding edge so glad to see the subsport maturing. I would like to see the discussion / Q and A posted (maybe with the identifiers stripped out to keep the intimidated from posting). I am really jazzed and have started my "change jar (laughs at self). Nice work and thank you.

The course is nice. Unfortunately (but obvious) is no other brands are included as a comparison. But what i'm really missing are the movies.

Makes me wonder if the quality of there product is about the same as this web page. Why would you put a incomplete page up and think that it will help you sell your product? On a side note cool video at Ensenada de Muertos Sailed there on a alpha speed needle in 89'
